The Button
Background
I produced this song as a kind of parody of the whole Krautrock thing, probably inspired more by Sprockets than the Kraftwerk track Mike Myers chose. I really enjoyed the way the vocals turned out even if the mix was a bit thin and “shinier” than I wanted.
I had ideas for the video back when I made the song, but I couldn’t get any of the generative AI video systems to actually render someone pushing down a big red button. I thought it would be the easiest damn thing in the world to generate but they all failed miserably.
It wasn’t until Sora 2 was released that I was able to generate a reliable video of a button push. I went with a kind of disaffected looking cat rather than a human for the video to add an air of absurdness to the snobbish pomposity of the vocal tone.
In the end, it’s just kind of cute. I actually do enjoy stuff like this. Don’t worry though– nightmarish video atrocities beyond comprehension are on the way.
